Hiking Adventures #24: Mt. Sembrano, Pililia, Rizal

#NoHikeFebraury is my campaign for the month of February because aside from I climbed twice last January, for sure there will be a lot of singles out there that will try to climb mountains to forget what they've been through about their lovelife. So I got really excited when March got in to hike again and I chose Mt. Sembrano for a dayhike.

This is another climb with my officemates with a special guest. We departed in Manila at around 4AM and we arrived at 6AM, just in time for a cold morning start before the sun rises.

We headed immediately in Brgy. Hall of Malaya to register. Registration fee is P20.

We opted not to get a guide because it's not required and according to my hiking friend, the trail is straightforward and has signs. It was my first time to lead a team without having a guide.

In the first part of the trek, we asked some residents there to where the way is. Because at that time, we're not on the trail proper yet. Until we reached a store that sells Buko Juice. From there we just follow the path til we get to the summit.

After an hour, we reached the Manggahan. It serves as a campsite for some hikers and residents there are selling Buko juice also.  Near Manggahan is a small falls and we opted to visit when we go back. So we continue our assault to the summit, and after more than an hour, we have reached the 1st peak.

The final assaulting is really exhausting but the view is all worth it. Then we went to much higher peak which is the North Peak. And from there you will have a another great view of Laguna Bay.

The descent is a little bit difficult because the trail was muddy. When we arrived in Manggahan, we decided to chill at the nearby falls.
